About Katie

My name is Katie Kabat. I am 18 years old. I am from the United States, specifically a city called Olympia about an hour south of Seattle. This is my first year of University and I am getting a degree in Humanities. I'm a little bit shy but also friendly and love talking to people. I've always been interested in learning about other languages and cultures. I've studied Spanish for 4 years and all the cultures that speak Spanish. I fell in love with the country of Spain and its culture and history so I decided to do my higher education here. I want to eventually work for the United Nations. I'm not exactly sure what in yet, but I like the international aspect of the job. Mythology has always been intriguing to me. Why the civilizations needed to believe in these things and the psychology behind it. I've only ever briefly studied it in my history and literature classes but I enjoyed those sections of the curriculum very much. I think it will be interesting to study how it impacted the societies of the civilizations. I'm really looking forward to this year!
